Planning a Retreat

1. Invite the right people...don't use retreats as "rewards" if it excludes key team members.

2. Have clear objectives for the retreat and commit them to a highly focused agenda.

3. Be a good time manager during the retreat...don't let conversations go on tangents...request that small groups take certain topics offline if they don't impact the entire team.

4. Assign homework before the workshop to make the most of your time together.

5. Keep an action list on hand to track commitments, responsible parties and deadlines.

6. Build a post-retreat follow-up into the process...future improvements depend on this.

7. Use a neutral retreat facilitator so that the team members are free to focus on the content of the retreat rather than just the logistics.

Executive Retreats

We Can Plan Your Next Executive Retreat

We work closely with you to define the goals of the executive retreat and prioritize the issues. Together we discuss not only the business context for the event but also the human context, identify areas where the discussion may veer off track and agree on strategies for handling explosive issues.

In developing the meeting agenda, we incorporate interactive challenges - indoors or outdoors - that energize the group, illuminate the issues at hand, and provide a welcome break from sitting in chairs.

Over the last ten years, we've helped a wide variety of organizations and work teams--from technology start-ups to financial services giants, from new fast-track project teams to well-established departments. Testimonials from a wide range of organizations, document unparalleled opportunities for executives to develop:

  • Leadership skills
  • Forge new tools to solve problems
  • Integrate individual strengths
  • Improve collaboration
  • Rekindle creative energy
  • Spark ideas and innovations
  • Build camaraderie and trust
  • Renew commitment

Our clients report tremendous satisfaction with the retreat results and the decision-making process as well as the energy and enthusiasm that accompanies participants back to the workplace.
