Team Building in Boston, Massachusetts

A diverse city rich in history and culture, Boston is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in the nation with a wide variety of parks, historical districts, and waterfront areas for team building activities. Most notably, this historical city is home to the Freedom Trail, the New England Aquarium and the beloved Red Sox and Fenway Park. Easy to traverse by foot, Boston also holds the moniker of America’s Walking City, amongst a slew of other nicknames like Beantown and The Olde Towne (it was established in 1630!). Here teams can stroll through the neighboring city of Cambridge and admire the Ivy League University campuses of Harvard and MIT, or take in some nature at one of the series of connected city parks which are collectively referred to as Boston’s emerald necklace.

Hit the road with GeoTrek in Boston

Team Building in BostonGeoTrek, our GPS scavenger hunt, blends technology and adventure into an exciting team building event in Boston. Many teams begin their event in the centrally located Boston Commons. Teams of 4-5 use maps and clues to navigate from Christopher Columbus Park to the North End and even over to Bunker Hill. Your strategy may be to head out to locate hidden caches further afield (and worth more points) in Charleston or to traverse to closer, less-challenging locations like Faneuil Hall. On-the-go challenges summon problem-solving skills and encourage collaborative solutions. GeoTrek, an unforgettable activity, evokes discovery of teamwork skills relevant for multi-cultural teams in ever-changing work environments.

Take to the Sea on a Sailing Program

Sailing5_360wThe maritime history of Beantown runs deep—it’s home to the famed USS Constitution or Old Ironsides, after all—and for this reason it’s a great place for our team sailing program. Hemmed in by the Charles and the Mystic Rivers, which come together and flow into the Boston Harbor and then the Massachusetts Bay, Boston is first and foremost a port town. Sailing is a tremendous way to take in the sights of the city, while also learning a new and team-oriented skill which requires solid communication and building trust amongst the crew.

On our team sailing program you’ll pass by a number of landmark locations, including the fabled Boston Seaport District, which is home to a myriad of incredibly old and also very modern buildings. The district features Boston’s World Trade Center and the strikingly designed Moakley Federal Courthouse located on Fan Pier. Weather permitting, you’ll also likely catch a glimpse of the inner harbor islands, such as Castle Island which is home to Independence Fort, Long Island with it’s famed lighthouse, and Spectacle Island, which is crisscrossed with walking paths.

Ropes Course Just Outside Boston

Ropes8_360wIf more adrenalin pumping outdoor activities are exciting to your corporate group, ropes courses are an excellent option and we’ve got a facility just outside Boston. This team building event requires an adventurous spirit as your team scales trees in a hard hats and harnesses as well as teamwork and communication skills, which come into play whilst completing low ropes challenges as a group. Not only is this event fun, it’s also an amazing way to take in the beautiful autumn foliage as summer turns to fall in New England.

Boston Team Building Event Venues

There is no shortage of parks, historic sites, and event spaces—both historic and modern—for your team building program. Boston Common is not just an expansive central park great for our Pursuit and Team Performance Challenges, it’s also the oldest park in the country, established back in 1634. If you’re looking for an indoor venue, the conference rooms at the Hyatt Harborside or The Charles Hotel in Cambridge are great sites for our problem-solving workshops.
