Jumpstart
At-a-Glance
Jumpstart is a 90-120 minute version of Pursuit and can be facilitated indoors or outdoors at almost any location. The tempo of the program is quick; there’s no time for debriefs, setting roles and goals, or facilitating discussions during Jumpstart. This is often a good program for large groups who want some solid team challenges in a short timeframe.
Teams of 10-12 are handed backpacks containing supplies, maps, a camera and other items needed to successfully complete Jumpstart. These challenges are a mix of problem-solving initiatives, physical challenges and puzzles facilitated by AAI staff.
Finally, we announce team scores and recognize superior efforts in leadership, communication and other areas in a fun and humorous fashion.
The Facilitators’ Role
Prep
- Review all pre-program communication & instructions in detail.
- Practice introductions of activities at home and with facilitators onsite.
Logistics
- Help with final activity set-up.
- Releases: collect and review for skipped signatures, cross-outs and missing dates; communicate with lead facilitator as needed.
- Supplies: distribute and collect team backpacks.
- Photos: take pictures throughout program and most important and often forgotten, a final large group photo.
